Major Democrat defeat! Thanks to your help, we stopped Gavin Newsom’s secret plans to interfere in our elections and allow more criminals on our streets.

You may remember that Newsom tried to jam poison pill amendments into wannabe “tough on crime” legislation that would repeal the “Homelessness, Drug Addiction, and Retail Theft Act,” which is on the ballot this November. His cynical plan was a blatant manipulation of voters. His plan was so cynical that Democrats and Republicans opposed it. Thanks to your help, we pressured Newsom and Democrat leadership to drop this election interference stunt.

Unfortunately, Gavin Newsom had another trick up his sleeve: force his own soft-on-crime measure onto the ballot that would repeal the voter crime initiative. While Newsom was out campaigning for Biden, he had Democrat leadership do the dirty work and introduce his initiative just 72 hours before the deadline.

Immediately, I published an op-ed exposing Newsom for abandoning the democratic process and calling on him to withdraw his proposal that undermined our democracy.

After mounting opposition and brutal media hits, Newsom had no choice but to drop his soft-on-crime ballot measure in another major win for democracy. For once, Californians benefitted from having a governor who cares more about national politics than his job in Sacramento.  

I’m appalled by our governor, who often neglects his duties in California to travel the country, lecturing other states about democracy while undermining it in his own. Thanks to your help, we are holding Newsom and our government accountable and making your voices heard. We are Fixing California.
