John, did you know 1 in 4 adults across the country live with a disability? Around 25% of Americans face unique challenges in their day-to-day lives, and they deserve policies that work for them – not against them.

That’s why it’s so important that policies affecting people with disabilities should be led by people with disabilities: If you’re ready to invest in the future of representative democracy and support candidates with disabilities, you can rush a $5 gift to Run for Something right now. >>

Living with a disability doesn’t limit one’s ability to run for office. We proudly endorse, mentor and support pioneers like RFS alum David Ortiz, a representative in Colorado’s Statehouse. While serving his country as a U.S. army combat aviator, David was in a crash that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Since returning home, David has dedicated his life to serving his community.

Or like Pennsylvania State House Representative Jessica Benham, who serves as the state legislature’s first openly autistic representative. Since her election in 2020, she’s focused on fighting for disability rights, access to health care and more.

These amazing candidates have made one thing clear: Advancing progressive and inclusive health care policies require that we center the lived experience of people with disabilities when crafting and enacting legislation.

That’s why Run for Something is so excited to support more candidates like David and Jessica who are giving their communities the representation they deserve, while fighting for all their constituents.

Donate now to Run for Something to show your support for people with disabilities and help us elect more progressive candidates who will advocate for them. >>

Thank you for your support,
