Right now, just 52 non-binary leaders are in office [[link removed]] – from state legislatures to mayor’s offices to school boards and city council seats.
But more and more non-binary people are coming out and stepping up to run for office. According to the 2024 Out for America Report, non-binary representation has grown by 69.6% since last year [[link removed]] , a higher rate than any other gender group.
