John,
Last month, Republican megadonors ousted Jamaal Bowman from office, thanks in large part to the $17 million that AIPAC and their MAGA funders spent in the race.
It was a bitter pill to swallow.
But perhaps just as troubling as the results last month is the precedent that this race — the most expensive House race in history — sets for the rest of this cycle and beyond.
Big money in politics isn’t new. But on this scale? From Republican donors? In a Democratic primary? It would have been unimaginable just a handful of years ago.
And now they’re poised to try the same thing against Cori Bush in Missouri, whose primary is less than four weeks away on August 6th.
So, we have two quick requests for you today:
First, if you can, join an upcoming phonebank for Cori Bush here. We’re hosting phonebanks every Monday and Thursday starting at 6pm ET — including tonight! — and we know we CAN overcome their spending if we reach enough voters between now and Election Day.
Make calls »
Second, if you’re not able to volunteer for Cori, please consider making a donation directly to her campaign instead here. Your financial support will allow Cori's campaign to put even more resources toward contacting voters and fighting back against right-wing attacks.
Pitch in »
With the primary less than four weeks away, we need to do everything in our power to help out. Attack ads have been blanketing the airwaves all month, and even more MAGA-funded smear campaigns are inbound. But we CAN out-organize them and win, if we all pitch in.
In solidarity,
Team WFP
