Who Is Receiving Social Safety Net Benefits? [ [link removed] ]

The U.S. Census Bureau today released  data [ [link removed] ] from the 2023 Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP). The SIPP [ [link removed] ] is a longitudinal survey that provides comprehensive information about income and assistance program participation of individuals and households in the United States. The survey collects data and measures change in characteristics like economic well-being, family dynamics, education, assets, health insurance, child care and food security. 

The release includes: 


* A series of fact  [ [link removed] ]sheets [ [link removed] ] providing quick and easy statistics on the recipients of key social welfare and social insurance programs in the United States for calendar year 2022.
* Data tables [ [link removed] ] about the receipt of Social Security, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and more.
* Who Is Receiving Social Safety Net Benefits? [ [link removed] ] This updated social safety net interactive data tool sheds light on the demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of individuals and households that received a range of social safety net benefits from 2013 to 2022.
