I am WAVE Educational Fund’s newest employee, hired in June as a Policy and Communications Fellow. Before my employment, I participated in WAVE’s youth summer internship in 2019. The internship taught me I could use my anger about gun violence to make a difference. My experience as a WAVE intern helped me develop my skills and fuel my passion to pursue gun violence prevention work full-time. 

Your support of WAVE’s internship program builds the next generation of gun violence prevention advocates.   

No member of my generation is unaware of gun violence. From living through active shooter drills to hearing about shootings every night on the news, it is no surprise some have called Gen Z ‘Generation Lockdown.’  

Since I first connected with WAVE, I have worked with multiple gun violence prevention organizations. Five years later, I am still close to the friends I made in the WAVE internship. For all of that, I remain grateful.

I urge you to donate to WAVE Educational Fund to ensure our internship impacts as many young people as possible. Your support will ensure that ‘Generation Lockdown’ will also be the generation that ends gun violence.
