With 23 Allies now meeting or exceeding the two percent GDP defense spending commitment,
NATO's defense industrial base is being strengthened to ensure readiness and resilience to diverse threats across air, land, sea, cyber, and space. A $10 billion commitment to arms production by NATO for defense and industrial cooperation among Allies. Additionally, there are efforts to extend NATO's partnerships in the Indo-Pacific- including South Korea, Japan and Australia.
Other efforts include implementing real-time threat intelligence, and addressing vulnerabilities through integrated cyber defense centers.
Inclusive security policies are also on the agenda, with NATO's updated Women, Peace, and Security policy addressing new security threats such as technology-enabled gender-based violence and climate security. The Alliance's commitment to supporting women in the Ukrainian armed services reflects NATO's broader goals of promoting gender equality and advancing extensive security objectives.
