I’m sure you are receiving plenty of emails this weekend from a range of candidates and causes.

But that’s why I have to ask: Will you donate ahead of my team’s End of Quarter fundraising deadline tomorrow night?

Let me explain why your support is so crucial. It’s easy, especially after watching the first Democratic Presidential debates, to focus your attention on the Presidential race.

I know that’s important, but please don’t lose sight of the important work being done at the state level. One of the biggest checks we have on Donald Trump and his Administration are Democratic Governors. Case in point, when Trump withdrew from the Paris Climate Agreement, my Administration joined the U.S. Climate Alliance to honor our commitment to that historic agreement on climate change.

And when Republicans all across the country advanced some of the most restrictive and extreme laws targeting women’s health since Roe v. Wade was decided, I pledged to veto those bills here in Michigan.

From Trump to climate change to women’s health, we need your help to win these ongoing fights on the state level.

So that’s why I have to ask: Will you consider matching my average donation of $18 or giving more so we can hit tomorrow night’s fundraising deadline and continue the work we’re doing?
