Friend, as you read this, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is on the ground in Sudan, where a colossal war is taking place.
Over a year into the ongoing war between the government-led Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), civilians are caught in the crossfire, the health care system has collapsed, and more than 8.6 million people have been forced to flee—the largest refugee crisis in the world.
The humanitarian response to this catastrophe has not been nearly great enough to meet the growing needs. MSF has been able to stay in Sudan and neighboring countries to deliver desperately-needed aid for one main reason: Our independent donors. Here’s how we’ve responded to the conflict in Sudan:
