Indivisibles,

Trump was supposed to face sentencing today in New York. A month ago, he
was convicted by a jury of his peers of falsifying business records to
hide information from voters ahead of the 2016 election. And today was the
day he was going to learn his fate.

Of course, that’s not happening today, because his handpicked justices on
the Supreme Court engaged in their own bit of election interference --
retroactively handing him king-like powers and delaying the many cases
against him for months, if not longer.

So the Manhattan court won’t decide Trump’s fate today. Instead, we will
decide it at the ballot box in 117 days.

The work ahead of us is daunting. But today, Trump’s original sentencing
day, it’s worth reminding ourselves -- particularly given the
round-the-clock media focus on Biden right now -- that the Republican
nominee for president is a man who was convicted of 34 felonies and
remains charged with dozens more.

Our opponent is a man who was found liable for sexual abuse. A man who
sent a violent mob to stop the peaceful transfer of power and has
threatened another “bloodbath” if he loses. The GOP is running a wannabe
autocrat who has publicly expressed support for the most extreme abortion
bans in the country, who promises to cut taxes for his wealthiest donors
while raising prices for the rest of us, plans to deport millions of our
neighbors, weaponize the Department of Justice against his political
opponents, and whose allies have been tasked with plotting a Christian
Nationalist takeover of our government -- Project 2025.

For all the ups and downs of the past few weeks, let's remember today that
Donald Trump is a massively flawed and weak candidate, with massively
flawed and unpopular policies. Donald Trump is beatable. We’ve done it
before. And together, we’ll do it again.

The courts won’t save our country from another four years of Trump, but we
can, Indivisibles. [ [link removed] ]Chip in to fuel the grassroots organizing that’ll

Ultimately, it’s up to us to go out and remind voters what a second Trump
term will mean for our country. Indivisibles are already knocking on
doors, writing postcards, and joining phonebanks. With our revolutionary
Neighbor2Neighbor program, we’re bypassing the media and reaching voters
with trusted messengers (their neighbors).

We know that the same MAGA justices who helped Trump evade accountability
today are teeing him up to be a dictator on Day 1. They're chipping away
at the checks and balances that could stop Trump from single-handedly
implementing his agenda of hate and vengeance. This is what we're up
against in this election. But when we lay out the stakes to voters, we're
not just talking about the negative stakes of Trump getting back in the
White House -- we're also discussing the better future that’s possible if
we win.

With a true Democratic trifecta, we can restore reproductive rights
nationwide. We can pass democracy reform and voting rights legislation so
that the rules of our political system are no longer rigged in favor of
the rich and powerful. We can work for affordable housing and health care.
We can pass binding ethics rules for the Supreme Court and enact other
reforms to root out its corruption and restore its integrity.

We know these policies are popular with voters and when we line them up
against what the GOP is offering -- a convicted, would-be dictator who'd
roll back our most fundamental personal rights -- the choice in this
election becomes clear. But it's up to us to make this case to voters and
we can't do that without your help. [ [link removed] ]So if you want to support the
grassroots organizing -- the phonebanks, texting, postcards, and
one-on-one conversations -- that will help us win in November, please

When we defeat Trump in November, we'll be saving an imperfect and damaged
democracy -- but we'll also win the chance to build a better one.

In solidarity,
