George Clooney Divorces From President Biden
After raising $30 million for him last month ( AP). Washington Examiner: Hollywood star George Clooney called on President Joe Biden to step aside from the presidential race, weeks after he hosted a fundraiser for the president’s campaign. Writing an opinion piece for the New York Times on Wednesday, Clooney said the Biden people saw during the president’s disastrous debate less than two weeks ago was the “same man” he saw at the high-profile fundraiser last month. Clooney is one of the biggest names to defect from supporting Biden’s campaign, as Democrats in Washington continue to deliberate on how to move forward toward November ( Washington Examiner). Katie Pavlich: Democrats have known about Biden’s situation for years, especially over the past six months. The donors and big Hollywood influencers whispered about how bad it was while the White House and Dems on Capitol Hill covered it up, thinking they could hide it from the public. Then, the debate happened and the truth was spilled in glaring fashion all over the place. The vulnerable position they’ve put the country in is shameful ( X).

Pelosi on Biden: "I want him to do whatever he decides to do”
Spencer Brown: Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) joined MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Wednesday, supposedly to make some sort of formal declaration about the matter of President Joe Biden’s fitness to remain the Democrats’ candidate for president and serve another four years in office. Instead of a clear endorsement of the president’s candidacy, viewers got another sign of disarray among Democrats as Pelosi stopped well short of voicing her support for Biden ( Townhall). Morning Joe: Speaker Pelosi asked about Biden’s candidacy: “I want him to do whatever he decides to do. And that’s the way it is. Whatever he decides we go with” ( X).

AOC Introduces Articles of Impeachment Against SCOTUS Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito
Just the News: Progressive New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez introduced articles of impeachment on Wednesday against Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito. The two conservatives justices have been embroiled in ethics scandals and corruption allegations over the past year, over failure to disclose luxury trips and refusals to recuse themselves from certain Supreme Court cases. The New Yorker said the charges against Thomas also include failure to recuse himself from matters related to his wife Ginny Thomas’s financial and political interests ( Just the News). Fox News: Ocasio-Cortez first threatened an article of soft impeachment following the Supreme Court’s ruling in former President Trump’s immunity case. The ruling in question said a president has absolute immunity from prosecution for “actions within his conclusive and preclusive constitutional authority,” and “presumptive immunity” for official acts in general. The court said there is no immunity for unofficial acts. The lawmaker argues that Alito was biased in favor of Trump and participants in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol. She and other critics base the accusation on Alito flying an “appeal to heaven” flag at his home. The flag has been a symbol associated with American independence since before the Revolutionary War ( Fox News).

Donald Trump the GOP’s 2024 Platform
Presidency: For decades, our politicians sold our jobs and livelihoods to the highest bidders overseas with unfair Trade Deals and a blind faith in the siren song of globalism. They insulated themselves from criticism and the consequences of their own bad actions, allowing our Borders to be overrun, our cities to be overtaken by crime, our System of Justice to be weaponized, and our young people to develop a sense of hopelessness and despair. They rejected our History and our Values. Quite simply, they did everything in their power to destroy our Country. In 2016, President Donald J. Trump was elected as an unapologetic Champion of the American People. He reignited the American Spirit and called on us to renew our National Pride. His Policies spurred Historic Economic Growth, Job Creation, and a Resurgence of American Manufacturing. President Trump and the Republican Party led America out of the pessimism induced by decades of failed leadership, showing us that the American People want Greatness for our Country again….To make clear our commitment, we offer to the American people the 2024 GOP Platform to Make America Great Again ( Presidency)!

House Passes Resolution Mandating Proof of Citizenship to
New York Post: The House approved a measure Wednesday to require proof of US citizenship when registering to vote — a measure strongly opposed by top Democrats and the White House despite proof of non-citizens casting ballots in federal elections. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas), Vicente Gonzalez (D-Texas), Jared Golden (D-Maine), Don Davis (D-NC) and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-Wash.) among those crossing party lines. The bill was opposed by 198 Democrats ( New York Post). RNC Research: Almost every single Democrat just voted to *protect* the ability of illegal aliens to vote in our elections ( X).

Idaho Governor Signs Executive Order Ensuring Only Citizens Be Allowed to Vote
Townhall: Idaho Gov. Brad Little signed an executive order on Tuesday directing the secretary of state to “take all necessary steps” to ensure only citizens can register to vote. The Only Citizens Will Vote Act will “protect election integrity, voter confidence, and the sanctity of voting.” The executive order directs the Secretary of State to ensure there are processes set up to validate voter registrations, review the state’s voter rolls, and coordinate with the Department of Homeland Security to verify citizenship status. State agencies are also prohibited under the order to provide noncitizens with voter registration materials. The order comes after the Biden administration on Monday said it “strongly opposes” the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, legislation that would require proof of citizenship to register to vote ( Townhall). Daily Wire: As Idaho moves on the state level, Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) is leading legislation, called the “Safeguard American Voter Eligibility” (SAVE) Act, to enforce the prohibition of non-citizens voting in federal elections ( Daily Wire).

First Democrat Senator Calls for Biden to Drop Out of Campaign
Hill: Sen. Peter Welch (D-Vt.) on Wednesday became the first Senate Democrat to publicly call on President Biden to withdraw from the presidential race. Welch wrote in a Washington Post op-ed that while he has “great respect” for the president, whom he calls one of the best of his lifetime, it is time for Biden to step aside for the good of the country ( Hill). NBC: Several Democrats in the House have called for Biden to bow out of the race, but Welch is the first from the Senate to do so. Welch, 77, is a longtime fixture in Vermont politics, having served in the House since 2007 before being elected to the Senate in 2022. Earlier on Wednesday, Reps. Earl Blumenauer of Oregon and Pat Ryan of New York called for Biden to drop his re-election bid ( X).

Kamala Harris Polls Worse Against Trump Than Biden in Hypothetical Races
Townhall: Many Democrats who were complicit in the Big Lie over Biden’s condition have been frantically insisting since last month’s debate that Biden withdraw from the race. He has steadfastly refused, publicly painting such demands as anti-democracy (he won the nearly-uncontested primaries running away) and aiding and abetting Trump. Many members of his party fell in line after that admonition… A growing consensus is that if it’s not Biden, it would have to be the Vice President, Kamala Harris ( Townhall). Guy Benson: Trump +3 against Joe Biden. Trump + 6 against Kamala Harris. They’re stuck ( X).

Hill: Republicans have a two-thirds chance of retaining their House majority in November, a warning sign for Democrats as President Biden struggles to tamp down concerns over the impact of his candidacy downballot, according to a Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ) forecast released Tuesday. DDHQ noted that the chances of the GOP winning the House rose 1 percentage point since its forecast this week, with Republicans seen as the favorite to win 11 out of 16 toss-up races ( Hill). Just the News: At the presidential level, the model gives presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump a 58% chance of reclaiming the White House ( Just the News).

United States to Provide 500-Pounds Bombs to Israel After Withholding Weapon for Two Months
Wall Street Journal: The U.S. will soon begin shipping to Israel the 500-pound bombs that the Biden administration had previously suspended, ending a two-month pause it had imposed in a bid to reduce civilian casualties in Gaza, U.S. officials said. The bombs “are in the process of being shipped,” and are expected to arrive in Israel in coming weeks, an administration official said. Heavier 2,000-pound bombs that were meant to be part of the same shipment are still on hold, the official added ( Wall Street Journal). Jerusalem Post: The delayed shipment, initially blocked by US President Joe Biden, had become a contentious issue in US-Israel relations. According to N12, the shipment’s approval follows intensive negotiations and diplomatic efforts led by Israel’s Defense Ministry, including the director general and the head of the planning division, alongside the Defense Minister, who recently visited the United States to advocate for the release ( Jerusalem Post).
