DSA COOLING CENTER
Over the past week during the ongoing heat wave, Sacramento DSA has been hosting a cooling center in partnership with Organize Sacramento. We've provided water, drinks, and snacks to over 300 people who've sought respite from the brutal heat. The Sacramento Bee covered it in a recent story.
The cooling center will remain open through Saturday, July 13th from 12-8pm. You can donate supplies at 1714 Broadway, volunteer for a shift, or make a donation on Paypal to [email protected] (indicate in the notes that it is for "mutual aid").

DR. FLO COFER FOR MAYOR
DSA members spent a weekend growing their organizing skills with #TeamFlo for Mayor. We are so excited to kick back into campaign mode and win this!
We have less than 4 months until election day and that means we’re going to be working hard to beat the corporate politicians and interests trying to influence decision making in this city.
Join us for Pancakes and Canvassing with Dr. Flo Cofer in College Glen on Saturday, July 13th at 9:30am. RSVP here.

BIG QUEER COOKOUT
Join our Trans Rights and Bodily Autonomy Committee for some sweet summer fun! Get your pool noodles and wetsuits ready for a day on the water. To beat the inevitable heat, we're starting and ending before the hottest part of the day.
As always, the Big Queer cookout is a *bring your own everything* event. It's free, silly, and 100% whatever you want it to be. We supply the tunes (thanks to DJ Amen and House Feral) and the vibes - you bring the rest!
Sunday, July 28th, 11am - 2pm River location TBA. Follow @bigqueercookout on Instagram for timely updates.
