Friend, yesterday Alex called on Congressman Neal to pledge to #PutPeopleFirst.

The coronavirus relief stimulus package did more to protect the financial security of corporations than it did to protect working families and vulnerable essential workers.

If Richard Neal is as powerful as he claims, then he should use his influence to ensure that our most vulnerable citizens are prioritized and protected.

We are calling for Congress to prioritize working families by producing the following protections:

* Keep people on payrolls: Stop mass layoffs and preserve employment relationships for all businesses, including small businesses. Ensure federal dollars go to workers and small businesses, not to enriching CEOs and Wall Street.

* Provide financial relief: Expand aid for the most vulnerable in the COVID-19 epidemic, including our undocumented neighbors. This means direct cash assistance, increased food aid, debt relief, and eviction protections.

* Protect public health: Provide full healthcare coverage for front-line workers affected by COVID-19.

* Defend elections: Enact a vote-by-mail requirement for all 2020 elections while maintaining access to in-person voting with strict social distancing and cleanliness guidelines for those who do not have access to mail voting.

Republicans are using this moment to enrich Wall Street and their high-powered donors, and corporate Democrats like Richard Neal are letting them get away with it. We cannot let this continue.
