To dismantle the war machine, we need to #1 Divest (withdraw financial support for war) and #2 Close Military Bases (shut down the infrastructure that enables militarism and imperialism around the world). Starting this week, we're offering a new series of free online webinars focused on our Divestment + Close Bases campaigns, which are at the center of our work at World BEYOND War.

Divest from the War Machine Webinar Series, hosted by World BEYOND War + CODEPINK: Over the course of 5 webinars in 5 weeks from April 23-May 19, we'll cover the why, what, and how of divestment. We'll share campaign success stories and talk about how to replicate this success in your community. We'll cover how to do divestment research, what is coalition-building and power-mapping, how to divest your university and city, debunking divestment myths, and much more. The goal of this webinar series is to provide activists with the training, tools, and resources to start up divestment campaigns in their communities. We're kicking off the series this Thursday, April 23 at 8pm ET featuring Carley Towne & Cody Urban of CODEPINK and David Swanson of World BEYOND War to talk about divestment 101 and the successful campaign to divest Charlottesville from weapons and fossil fuels. In addition to divestment, another key step towards the long-term goal of abolishing war is shutting down the infrastructure of war, military bases. Next week, on April 29, we'll hear about how these bases perpetuate the war system.
