In the face of historically unprecedented threats of violence and the denial of basic human and civil rights, it is the responsibility of any legitimate news organization to give Americans a clear-eyed perspective on Trump’s governing plans. So why is CNN so silent on Project 2025?
Project 2025 is Trump’s nearly thousand-page extreme far-right blueprint for the “dictatorship” that he plans to implement starting on Day 1, should he win election in November.
Envisioning our country under White Christian Nationalist rule, it vilifies immigrants, people of color, the LGBTQ+ community, and what it calls “woke” liberals, calling for these Americans to be marginalized or even eliminated from society.
The level of detail and specificity in Project 2025 sends the message: the Trump-activated far-right is more than ready to act on hundreds of specific plans to end American democracy.
MSNBC gets it. They have covered it with enough detail that it’s starting to break through to the general voting public. Now Trump’s trying to hide from it, claiming he knows “nothing about Project 2025” -- even though it was written by more than 25 former Trump officials and it puts meat on the bones of Trump’s own statements. MSNBC has run multiple segments by Rachel Maddow, Joy Reid, Chris Hayes, Nicolle Wallace, Morning Joe, and others.
So why is CNN out to lunch? So far, when CNN manages to cover Project 2025 at all, they have often used Trump’s own talking points. They need to do their jobs now, before the plan is implemented and news journalists at CNN are branded “enemies of the state.”

RollingStone, VOX, and dozens of other publications have been covering Project 2025 and exposing the truth about this unpopular, anti-democratic, right-wing manifesto, but CNN is missing in action.
We can expect that from Fox, but CNN is supposed to be legitimate news. They need to step it up to prove it. That means real coverage and multiple segments to report on the many goals of Project 2025, which include:

Restricting abortion and reproductive freedom nationwide and replacing the Department of Health and Human Services with the “Department of Life.”

Declaring that “married men and women” are inherently superior to any other family structure, allowing discrimination against same-sex couples, expelling transgender service members, restricting access to gender-affirming care, and publicly denouncing transgender Americans.

Deploying the military within the U.S. to round up millions of undocumented workers and place them in mass holding camps.

Ending all climate change initiatives, firing climate scientists, and shutting down multiple agencies such as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Funneling billions in public school funding to private school vouchers for religious schools.

Jailing political opponents by weaponizing the DOJ and FBI.
Until CNN reports on the big picture of Project 2025, they are failing the American people. Contact CNN and demand they start covering the truth about Project 2025 now.
