Dear Neighbor, I hope you are well! I wanted to take this opportunity to update you on several happenings in the district as well as Harrisburg.

Harrisburg Legislative Update 

Both the Pennsylvania House and Senate are in session this week, working with Governor Shapiro to finalize and pass the state budget. The members of the House Appropriations Committee held a lengthy meeting last night where we discussed code bills and policies that will be debated on the House floor the next few days. The General Assembly is close to determining the final version of the budget, and I am optimistic that the House majority will be able to create exciting opportunities for Pennsylvanians. My own time has been spent advocating for public education funding, support for our healthcare workers, commitment to local watershed projects and other priorities of our community. I am hopeful that I can provide more details on how this budget will positively impact our families in next week's email. In the meantime, my office will provide updates through social media as they become available. Shred Event 

This Saturday, July 13 is our annual Shred Event with Majority Leader Rep. Matt Bradford. We will be at the Norristown Area High School from 9 a.m. - noon or until trucks are full. 

Each household is limited to two boxes of only paper. No electronics or trash is permitted, all paper will be recycled. Cardboard boxes and plastic bags will be returned after materials are shred. Paper bags can be shredded with the paper. 

Skippack Fourth of July Parade 

Thank you to our neighbors in Skippack Township for inviting me to participate in their annual Fourth of July parade again this year. It has become a tradition that Laura and I look forward to every year, and it’s always a thrill to see how many residents of the 150th district line the streets in support of this celebratory community event!

Road Work Announcement 

The PA Turnpike commission has scheduled bridge beam installation on U.S. 422 and North Gulph Road in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County, and Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County from July 17 to the July 26. 

Motorists should use caution and be prepared for slow or stopped traffic approaching the work areas. The schedule is weather dependent. Check 511PA.com for more details and updates. 

Summer Collection Drive

My office is collecting nonperishable foods, school materials, and cleaning supplies for my Summer Collection Drive. Drop off donations at my district office or at one of the local township or borough offices now through Aug. 8! 

Out & About in the 150th

• Upper Providence: Amazing Turtles of PA 

On Saturday, July 13 at 11 a.m., enjoy a live animal presentation at Upper Schuylkill Valley Park, which will give you an up-close view of some of the park’s resident turtles. The event is for all ages and pre-registration is required. Register here. 

• Trappe: Dinner on Main 

Celebrate Historic Trappe at a community dinner held in the middle of Main Street! On July 14th from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m., enjoy a variety of delicious foods provided by local restaurants. Buy tickets here. 

• Lower Providence: Movie in the Park: The Sandlot 

Next Wednesday, July 17, head to Eagleville Park at 7:30 p.m. for their movie in the park: The Sandlot. Please bring your own chairs and blankets. For more information visit the link here. 

• Music in the Park: Swiftie & The Midnights 

Anderson Farm Park’s Music in the Park series is excited to host Swiftie & the Midnights next Wednesday, July 17 at 6 p.m. If you are a Taylor Swift fan, this event is for you! Please remember to bring a chair or blanket. For more information visit the link here.
