Dear John,
Today we filed our Petition for Recount in the Goochland Circuit Court. This is the critical next step to ensuring that every legal vote from the June 18 primary is properly counted. We anticipate that in the coming days the Chief Judge will grant our Petition for Recount and set the recount date. Our campaign team has been working diligently to ensure that every primary election canvass was properly observed, public data from election night was reviewed, and that our legal team is ready for the upcoming recount.
I know that so many of you are waiting for more details on the recount, and as soon as the Chief Judge sets the date, we will communicate that and provide more details as we have them. In the meantime, my wife Tracey and I appreciate your prayers and expressions of encouragement. We are also grateful to those who have contributed to help with the cost of the recount.
While this was not the election night outcome we had worked for, my team and I are doing everything we can to finalize a very tight race that sadly included months of unprecedented Swamp Dollar spending on dishonest ads and messaging. We haven’t given up, because the America you and I love is worth fighting for. The people who invested their time, talent, and treasure so heavily in this race deserve our best effort to fight for victory and ensure that this race is fairly and accurately decided.
Our recount efforts are expected to cost as much as $100,000. My opponent and his Washington D.C. operatives have said repeatedly that we couldn’t afford a recount, but you have called for this recount and you have made it possible with your generous donations. We are almost to the finish line, and we are running “with endurance the race that is set before us.”
Will you consider a donation of $25, $50, $100 or even $250 toward this recount? Click here to help!
The Swamp spent over $10 million in this race to defeat me because I stood up for you and fought to change Washington. Their hope was to silence constitutional conservatives, but we will not be silenced. Will you consider a donation to help retire our primary race campaign debt? Click here to help!
