As we approach the November elections, political campaigns and progressive organizations are turning to innovative voter contact methods. With political ad spending projected to exceed $10 billion in 2024, a 13% increase from 2020, campaigns are adopting more personalized ways to connect with voters. This shift is driven by a stark reality: what worked in 2020 will not necessarily work in 2024

Engagement via traditional social media channels has also tumbled for many impactful progressive organizations. Research consistently shows that people are more likely to trust and act on information shared by peers or respected figures within their communities. According to a study conducted by Nielsen, approximately 9 in 10 consumers trust recommendations from people they know above any other media or marketing channel. Innovative voter contact methods tap into these existing networks of trust, creating more meaningful and impactful connections.

As we move closer to November, it's clear that campaigns and organizations are adapting their strategies to leverage the power of organic social sharing and influencer marketing. These newer approaches are not just about reaching voters; they're about building trust and fostering genuine engagement in an increasingly fragmented media landscape.

SoSha (HGL5) released its powerful new AI Writing Assistant. The tool takes text from your starting post and customizes it for any social platform. Once you get a draft, you can accept the suggestions or keep tweaking until the post is perfect.

The Brown University Center for Technological Responsibility, Reimagination, and Redesign (CNTR) recently published an overview of proposed AI legislation across all 50 states. They used Plural (HGL2) to find, track, and categorize these bills for analysis. Read more about the analysis. 

Impactive (HGL3) is now integrated with ActBlue. The integration will provide campaigns and organizations with even more data on their contacts, and seamlessly raise funds with added insights from ActBlue data.

People First (HGL3) was mentioned in The New York Times on the role of influencer marketing for the 2024 cycle. “This is not a Greek play where god is going to come down and, deus ex machina, save us with Taylor Swift,” said Co-Founder Ryan Davis. “Democrats should seek out microinfluencers with followings as small as 2,000 people and ask them to create posts that focus on issues.”

Relentless (HGL6) and the Progressive Turnout Project launched a $10.8 million relational organizing program covering 7 battleground states. “Relational [organizing] is a way for voters to receive correct, accurate information in this time of unprecedented disinformation, because people trust their friends,” said Davis Leonard, CEO at Relentless.
