Great news! We’ve been working together with our dedicated partners in coalition and we’re thrilled to report our most recent success: the game-changing, transformative initiative to set the voting threshold for affordable housing measures at 55% will appear on the statewide ballot!

This policy will appear as Proposition 5 on the statewide ballot in November 2024, a Constitutional Amendment that makes it easier to pass local affordable housing bonds, a major structural change that unlocks new funding streams forever.

Prop 5 is an incredible opportunity to deliver major resources that allow us to make immediate investments in our communities as well as set the stage for our next big victories. We give great thanks to our members and partners who’ve worked alongside us throughout these efforts. We could not have accomplished this without you!

ICYMI: The Bay Area Housing Finance Authority (BAHFA) recently voted unanimously to approve sending the $20 billion 9-county Bay Area affordable housing bond measure to the November 2024 ballot!

"This housing bond will be a game-changer in preventing displacement of residents, addressing homelessness, and promoting equity within our Bay Area communities," NPH Executive Director Amie Fishman said via NBC Bay Area.

Strength in Numbers! NPH has been working diligently to advance this affordable housing measure in close coordination with our Bay Area Housing for All (BAHA) coalition, which includes All Home, Enterprise Community Partners and San Francisco Foundation. The regional measure could advance affordable housing solutions for hundreds of thousands of our neighbors in need, and with BAHFA’s vote, we are one BIG step closer to making this a reality for the Bay Area.

New financing sources have arrived and bond volume cap has remained competitive. This new development is EAH Housing’s first-ever community in Altadena and their second 100% permanent supportive housing property in the region. Agave will provide 58 new apartment homes for people experiencing homelessness and those with special needs.
