Try Plastic-free July for the Birds

Plastic-free July is a global movement encouraging people to try living without single-use plastic.

Plastic is harmful to birds in a number of ways. According to the American Bird Conservancy, ingestion of plastic represents a serious threat to marine birds, with blocked digestive systems and compromised kidney and endocrine functions often leading to the bird's death. Many species are drawn to thread-like plastics as potential nesting material. Once at the nest, this tangled plastic threatens both adult birds and their young. Help reduce the amount of plastic in the world by checking out these ideas and solutions to avoid plastic this month.
