John, we're setting the record straight on the judicial disaster unfolding in Arizona:
Arizona Republicans are scheming to take power away from voters to protect anti-choice state Supreme Court justices. Here's what's going on:
In Arizona, Supreme Court justices are elected by voters, and each justice serves for six years before being up for reelection. This year, two Arizona state Supreme Court justices will be on the ballot — both of whom voted in favor of Arizona's Civil War-era abortion ban.

Arizona Republicans know these justices do not represent the will of most Arizonans, and that their disastrous rulings on the abortion ban will cost them dearly at the ballot box. So what is the Republican-majority state Legislature proposing? A ballot measure that would remove voters' right to retain or dismiss Supreme and Superior Court justices — instead allowing justices to serve lifetime appointments. (In other words, they want the Arizona Supreme Court to work the same way as the U.S. Supreme Court, which as we know has been very effective at attacking abortion rights.)
Here's the truth, John:
This plan is fueled by the GOP's desire to retain the Arizona Supreme Court judges who voted to enforce the state's 1864 total abortion ban.
If the Republican ballot measure were to pass, anti-choice justices could stay on the bench for life with no accountability and no way for voters to make their voices heard.
This is just one more way anti-choice extremists are doing everything in their power to roll back reproductive rights across America. But we won't let them get away with it, John. Donate now to fight back against GOP extremists in Arizona — and nationwide:
