A message from Cllr Neghat Khan, Leader of the Council
Football is coming home! Good luck to England who take on Netherlands in the semi-finals of the Euros tonight. I’m sure they will do us all proud. I’m pleased that we have put up the giant England flag on our Council House in recognition of their progress in the tournament. It’s the biggest flag in the country and we have been supported in doing this by sponsors Willmott Dixon and John E Wright. Council finances remain challenging but, as a proven problem solver, I am determined to find more ways like this that we can work with businesses, partners and the voluntary sector to make good things happen for Nottingham.

The Plan has been developed and agreed with the Commissioners and will guide the improvement required across the Council over the next 2 years.
Delivery of the Plan will result in a Council that looks, feels and operates significantly differently to the way it currently does.

Launch of new plan for Nottingham’s economy
A new plan has been created to help boost Nottingham’s local economy over the next ten years.
Nottingham City Council have worked with partners across the city to create the Economic Plan for all private, public and third sector partners, residents, and stakeholders.
"The vision is to deliver a vibrant, sustainable, and investment friendly Nottingham that promotes inclusion, secures resilience and unlocks prosperity for our residents and businesses."
The Nottingham Growth Board, which is a partnership of some of Nottingham’s key businesses, educational institutions, and public sector organisations, will oversee the plan.
The idea behind the Economic Plan is to have:

* A plan to help the city grow in a fair and sustainable way that benefits all citizens of Nottingham
* A framework of activity to help focus ambition and investment in our city
* A plan for all partners in the city to work towards to create sustainable and inclusive economic growth
The vision will be delivered by four key ambitions across four themes:
*_People and Skills_*"*: *""To facilitate additional employment of 12,000 new jobs by 2030."
*_Enterprise and Investment:_** *"To generate £500m of additional Gross Value added by 2030 in the city."
*_Infrastructure & Connectivity_**: *"Develop infrastructure and services to serve a city population of 345,000 and a population across Greater Nottingham of 710,000 by 2030".
