AFSCME family, meet Jushawn Rucker and David DiPasquale. Rucker is a school security officer, while DiPasquale is an athletic trainer. They both work for the Rochester City School District in western New York, are members of AFSCME Local 2419 (New York Council 66) and our newest Never Quit winners!

On Dec. 20, they were working a junior varsity basketball game when a 15-year-old player collapsed. Rucker and DiPasquale, both CPR certified, rushed to the teen's side and began compressions. The teen began showing vague signs of life by the time paramedics arrived.“He wasn’t really quite there,” DiPasquale recalls, “but he was alive."
