If there is one thing to know about my husband and I, we are a couple dedicated to public service. As a matter of fact, that’s why we were introduced to each other. Our families thought that we had a lot in common, as well as a deep care for service.

I want to dedicate this email to my husband. From serving in the military to becoming a White House fellow, to becoming the first Black Governor of Maryland and the only sitting Black Governor in the country — Wes has dedicated his life to the people.

Watching Wes work day in and day out to fight for the rights of Marylanders is what inspires me. His drive , his passion — it adds up to make for a true role model, and someone I am proud to call my husband.
Wes works beyond the boundaries of partisan politics, fighting to ensure that all Marylanders have an equal opportunity to thrive in this state. He has accomplished so much in his time as Governor. Far more than I can cover in one email.

Whether it was standing by his side to marry him or at his inauguration to become Governor, I cannot emphasize enough how proud I am to stand by his side. I hope that you are as well.
