To mark the end of our recent training in Rome, new Climate Reality Leaders joined partners on the ground to send a powerful message to Eni, the largest fossil fuel company in Italy.

Because despite already being a top greenhouse gas emitter globally, Eni plans to dramatically expand its fossil fuel operations in 16 countries in the coming years — doubling down on misguided plans that conflict with its own climate commitments and jeopardize our futures.

If Eni is serious about being a part of the solution, it needs to prove it.

The science is clear: The world can’t afford any new fossil fuel infrastructure and still hope to hold warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.

Without significant revisions to operations, Eni will dump millions more tons of greenhouse gas pollution into the atmosphere, bringing yet more lethal heat, longer droughts, and more.

We can’t afford business as usual. Tell Eni to stop its destructive fossil fuel expansion and invest in a clean energy future.
