Our vision for America is a place where all of us are free to live our own lives and make our own choices—to be free. Democrats want to protect and expand our freedoms, as we’ve seen over and over with President Biden’s actions to protect abortion access and healthcare, repair racial and gender disparities, and lift people up out of poverty.
The right wing does not share this vision for America. Their vision is described by a plan titled “Project 2025”. This horrific agenda would turn our federal government into a dictatorship, end people’s rights to abortion and gender-affirming care, and generally replace American freedoms with Christian-Nationalist ideologies. And the authors of this plan, the Heritage Foundation, have the clout on the right to turn these proposals into government policy if Trump gets elected this year.
Here’s what we’re going to do about it: Get out the vote. Our efforts are already working. Swing states like Nevada and Arizona and even red states like Arkansas will have abortion-rights amendments on their ballots. We are already winning downballot races and special elections because regular people are sick of MAGA ideology harming them day after day. They miss freedom and they want it back. We are winning on issues, not personalities or 900-page manifestos of horror. We need to continue this, and go even harder.
We will win the presidency. We will flip the House and keep the Senate. We will do these things so that we can hold SCOTUS to account, codify Roe v. Wade, and protect our democracy.
There is a place for you in this fight. Whatever you’re willing to do, whatever races you want to help win, it will help.
Hit the phone banks. Write some postcards. Talk to your family and friends: tell them about Project 2025. Ask them to stand up for womens’ and civil rights. Ask them to vote for reason and against tyranny.
Indivisible National is holding a phone bank tomorrow to inform voters about Project 2025 and the dangers of a second Trump term.
We know things are chaotic and scary right now. We’re worried too. But ultimately, media freakouts and backroom bickering are not actionable for us at the moment. There’s nothing we can do about those things. What we can do is help win the election. Right now, we need to focus on building our power where we are, where our families are: in swing districts right here in California, and in swing states.
The fight to defend democracy and our rights is our fight, so let’s turn off the TV and focus on the work. Together, we will overcome.

Thinking of going electric? Here are resources that can help
By now, you know that eliminating our dependence on fossil fuels is essential to preserving a livable climate. You want to do your part and switch to the growing variety of electric alternatives.
But perhaps you’re not sure whether those alternatives will work for you, or you don’t want to plunk down a bunch of money on a maybe. Or you’re ready to make the leap to an electric car, but the price is still too high to fit your budget.
The State of California, the City, and PG&E are offering rebates and other programs to help bring down the barriers to entry so you can electrify your life.

We’re also always on the lookout for more editors, or any other help you can provide. Our newsletter team meets every Tuesday night, and we would love for you to join us.
