Let’s call on Google and social media companies to stop spreading and profiting from any form of climate denial.
Friend,
Climate deniers are changing tactics on YouTube. That’s what CCDH’s innovative AI-powered research “The New Climate Denial” showed in January.
Instead of spreading outright climate denial, they’re now undermining the climate movement, science, and solutions.
The spread of New Climate Denial erodes public support for climate action and delays the solutions we so desperately need to save our planet.
But with your support, here’s what we’ve achieved so far:
Our research got widespread media coverage and was featured in CNN, Financial Times, The Guardian, and NBC. Our CEO Imran Ahmed was interviewed by CNN and NPR.
Actor Mark Ruffalo recorded a powerful video to amplify our New Climate Denial campaign.
UN Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications, Melissa Fleming, shared her support on X.
On Earth Day 2024, CCDH led 24 organizations and experts in sending a letter to Google demanding the company demonetize and stop amplifying climate denial content. After that, the Heartland Institute, a leading climate denial think tank featured in our New Climate Denial report, said that YouTube has now limited their ability to profit from their climate denial videos.
In April, our CEO Imran Ahmed spoke about climate disinformation in former US Vice President Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project training, in New York.
Now more than ever we need collective action. Share our campaign on your social media so that your friends and family can join too. Let's urge platforms to stop amplifying and profiting from all forms of climate denial.
