GOP Delegates Hit Back on 'Mockery' of Platform Process with Rare Minority Report |
by Suzanne Bowdey |
By the time the Trump campaign blasted out the GOP's 2024 platform early Monday afternoon, most people in Milwaukee had to ask themselves: what just happened? For the delegates, who were sideswiped by the unconventional, fast-tracked, secret process, the entire morning felt surreal. The outcome was so pre-determined, so tightly controlled that most of the men and women who traveled from the furthest corners of the country wondered what they were even doing there. |

3 Reasons Why Christians Should Trust in God, Not Earthly Rulers |
by Joshua Arnold |
It's a fact of life: political leaders will disappoint. I don't have to know any particular leader to say that. by Sarah Holliday |
"I think what you're doing is good," she said to me, a Christian journalist. "But I guess my question is, why should Christians engage in politics in the first place?" It's a reasonable inquiry, what she asked. And in no way did I feel it was ill-willed. Rather, it was straight to the point and, indeed, a common reaction to believers who take their faith to the public square. After all, why can't we just stick with plain and simple evangelism? Why must we get into the chaotic realm of politics? |

There Is No Liberty or Pursuit of Happiness without Life |
by S.A. McCarthy |
This year, I began a new Fourth of July tradition with my family and read out loud the Declaration of Independence to my wife and daughter. I will admit that it has been years since I've read the document in full, so I was thus struck anew by the wisdom, clarity, and moral courage with which that Declaration was penned. It is striking also that the 56 men who so famously signed that Declaration knew that they were, essentially, signing their own death warrants, but so committed were they to the principles enumerated therein, that they considered their lives a fair price to pay for the securing of these principles. |
