Dear John,
On this day in 1913, visionary Sigmund Livingston and other prominent Jewish leaders banded together to form ADL — to combat the rampant antisemitism spreading throughout society — and began to change history.
Today, as antisemitism is once again skyrocketing, I wanted to invite you to fight back TWICE as hard by Uniting for Good with ADL.
A group of your fellow ADL supporters are so concerned about the alarming explosion of antisemitism that they have agreed to match any gift you make between now and July 31 — dollar for dollar — up to $100,000.
With their help, we’ve created ADL’s Uniting for Good Matching Gift Campaign. And, John, while we value you as a member of the ADL community, making your first gift now will have TWICE the impact.
Antisemitism today is nothing short of a five-alarm fire that is raging across the country:
- It has disrupted life for Jewish people in our local communities, on college and university campuses, in K-12 schools and online.
- Jewish students have been harassed, threatened, spat on and physically assaulted. They have seen their classmates glorify Hamas’ terrorism and call for the destruction of Israel.
- Last year, ADL recorded more antisemitic incidents between Oct. 7 and Dec. 31 than in any prior full year since we started our annual Audit of Antisemitic Incidents in 1979.
- And for the first time in 60 years in our annual survey of antisemitic attitudes, younger adults believe more antisemitic tropes than do older generations.
This does not bode well for our future. But we will not be silent. We will not let antisemitism spread unchecked in our communities.
You can do your part in our Uniting for Good Matching Gift Campaign when you make your urgent donation that will go TWICE as far to:
- Track, expose and disrupt antisemitic activity wherever it happens.
- Provide Jewish students and parents with tools and legal guidance to demand change and help keep Jewish students safe on campus.
- Work closely with law enforcement to stop antisemitic acts, and when they do occur, help hold perpetrators accountable through criminal prosecution or our legal efforts in the courts.
- Expose antisemitism, bigotry, extremism and anyone who wants to harm another because of who they are or what they believe.
We must collectively say that antisemitism and hate have no place in our society.
Make your first gift now while it will go 2X as far to fight back TWICE as hard.
Sincerely, |
