Friends,
House Republicans passed the Refrigerator Freedom Act and the Stop Unaffordable Dishwasher Standards (SUDS) Act, blocking energy efficiency standards for refrigerators, freezers, and dishwashers.
Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) mocked the measures, highlighting the minimal monthly cost of running a dishwasher — just two to four dollars.
I agree with Rep. Porter; this legislation is a waste of time. "This is Congress at its worst. A bunch of people who haven’t unloaded a dishwasher ever telling Americans what dishwashers they should or shouldn’t have."
Congress has more important things to do.
Proper loading is the key to clean dishes, not deregulation. The simple solution stands in stark contrast to the complexity of this stupid legislation.
My opponent, Rep. Jack Bergman voted for this bill, choosing to focus on trivial issues amidst more pressing concerns.
As your next Congressperson, I would not engage in such triviality. We must prioritize meaningful legislation that addresses the real challenges facing Americans.
It’s time for meaningful change. It's time to clean House.
Onward,
Bob
