** DEAR FRIENDS,
------------------------------------------------------------

This past weekend had some frustrations. We appreciate everyone who called the Martin County, Texas Sheriff to report the illegal cockfight. Unfortunately, the Sheriff ultimately did nothing. The cockfight went on as scheduled, unbothered by police.

We were also told of another cockfight happening in Lawrence County, Ohio. We called the police and while they won’t answer us directly, they took no action either.

Martin County, Texas and Lawrence County, Ohio are known hotspots of corruption. It shouldn’t take this much effort on our part, but we will hammer them until they comply.

In Boone County, Illinois we are still fighting to get changes to cruel steer tailing! 8 of the 12 members of the County Board do seem to be listening to us! We hope to have good news after the meeting this Thursday.

We have been going to meetings, or writing into meeting to make our voices heard. Its time they hear yours too.

Please write to Rod Riley, Chairman of the Boone County Board.

[email protected] (mailto:[email protected]?subject=&body=)

You must state your Name, Address and “Please read at tonights meeting for Public Comment,” (We typically have this in the subject line)

And just write him a few quick sentences (it must be read in under 3 minutes) about how this is blatant animal cruelty and it must stop.

SAMPLE EMAIL

Chairman Riley, please read this public comment at the next meeting.

Please find it within yourselves to do something about the cruelty. because no animal deserves to have their skin ripped from their muscle. No animal should be run so often that they can't even get up. All animals deserve respect and a life free from torture.

Chairman Riley, please read this public comment at the next meeting.

When will your board members stop allowing cruel, illegal, and shameful animal abuse in Boone County?

Also, take a look at this “veterinarian” that was brought into the most recent steer tailing event we witnessed. A dozen animals were injured and Dr. Sarah Hadzic decided to take a break and enjoy watching more animals be brutalized right in front of her eyes.
