From blockaders halting border wall construction in Arizona to queer migrant safehouses and anarchist cafés in Tijuana, we bring you eight stories published from December 2022 through May 2024.

After Arizona’s Republican Governor Doug Ducey illegally constructed a wall for the US-Mexico border with shipping containers in late 2022, community members, environmental activists and migrant solidarity workers started blocking construction vehicles. In Tijuana, Mexico, local groups have been protesting border wall construction at Friendship Park on a weekly basis. They call for demilitarizing the border, halting border wall construction and reopening Friendship Park, which sits across from San Diego.
