Trump wants America to withdraw from NATO

Dear John,

Seventy-five years ago, after winning World War II, a group of nations formed the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). America’s national security was made stronger. The world was made safer. The promise that an attack on one is an attack on all has deterred many conflicts and prevented war in the seven decades since. That promise is being reaffirmed this week as President Biden hosts a NATO conference in Washington, DC.

Donald Trump has continually voiced his disdain for this vital part of America’s military strength. He has even invited Vladamir Putin to do whatever he wants in Western Europe and called the Russian dictator a genius. Watch Trump’s invitation to Putin.

And now, again, Trump is working to pave the way for Putin’s aggression by saying he wants to withdraw the United States from NATO if he returns to the White House.

It’s all part of the MAGA-fueled Project 2025 scheme. It is the blueprint for an autocratic governing scheme Trump will use if he wins in November.
