It was long holiday weekend for many Americans, Jack, but there are three big,
scary stories that I want to make sure you didn't miss in the celebrations:

The first I'm sure you saw—the Supreme Court granted presidents sweeping
immunity from prosecution for crimes committed in office, rolling out the red
carpet for a Trump dictatorship should he win a second term this fall. The
other two are just as bleak, as calls for violence were made by Republicans not
once, but twice.The normalization of political violence and Trump's new
immunity from prosecution for "official acts" paints a very scary picture of
what the next four years might look like.

But here's the thing: We still have the power to hold Trump accountable
ourselves. Far right parties were polling strongly in both the UK and France
(and expected to win outright in the latter!), but fell far short of
expectations in elections in those countries last week. We can do the same
thing here, just like we did in 2020. We just need to turn out every single
Democrat who's eligible to vote this fall.

Daily Kos has a plan to recruit 100,000 volunteers to help Get Out The Vote.
In fact, we've already got more than 15,000 volunteer shifts filled! This
campaign will be a major cost at a time when news outlets and activist groups
are hurting. That's why I'm asking you to donate $20.24 right now to help
