Members of the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee have advanced a bill that, if passed, paves the way for requiring women to register to be drafted into the U.S. military. The committee passed its version of the National Defense Authorization Act on June 13 by a vote of 22-3. It authorizes $923 billion for fiscal 2025 funding for national defense, including a 4.5% pay increase for all troops. It also includes a provision to amend the Military Selective Service Act to require women to register with the Selective Services System (SSS), the database that is used for a draft. |

NOTABLE QUOTES |
Naomi Wolf contributor to Frontpage Magazine: What you need to understand is that debanking, loss of medical licenses, deplatforming, fines, are all mere annoyances that go along with the late-stage decline of free civil societies. But the physical incarceration of critics — signaled now by the imprisonment of Stephen K Bannon — means we have passed a point almost of no return.
James Bovard contributor to Brownstone Institute: How many Americans have learned the bitter political lessons of the pandemic? As long as most people can be frightened, almost everyone can be subjugated. In the long run, people have more to fear from politicians than from viruses. Liberty is invaluable regardless of how many politicians seek to destroy it or how many fools fail to cherish it. |
