This may seem insignificant, but it's pretty revealing: Boebert proudly sported fake Trump-branded sneakers during her primary election watch party.

Boebert openly admitted that the sneakers were not the real deal, declaring them "very China," but adding: "I'm okay with that. If I could've bought the OGs, I would have."

These tacky gold sneakers actually reveal quite a bit about Boebert's approach to this election: cash in on a divided opposition by being the flashiest MAGA maniac in the group; stand out amongst the crowd, for better or worse; and put style over substance, always.

If this is Boebert's attempt to articulate an "America First" agenda in cattle country on the Eastern Plains of Colorado, it's going to need some serious work.

To win in November, Boebert is going to need the votes of thousands of ranchers, cattlemen, rural voters, and suburban Republicans. Her victory is far from guaranteed—and if her joking attitude about knock off sneakers made in China is any indication, she is going to keep making it easy to wedge her with the key voters she needs to win.

Colorado is getting bluer everywhere, and voters expect more from candidates than raunchy headlines and MAGA pandering. Exposing Boebert's complete lack of depth or care for critical rural issues will be key to defeating her.
