Dear John,

The Trump Seal of Approval tells voters if the candidate or committee is officially endorsed.

By Illinois Review

In August of 2023, President Donald Trump unveiled a “Seal of Approval” to stop candidates and their supporters from falsely claiming that they are affiliated with or endorsed by his campaign to protect loyal donors and everyday supporters from political “scammers.”

The press release, which was released by the Trump campaign in the Summer of 2023, highlights the power of the Trump endorsement and why so many candidates, their supporters and committees seek it.

“President Trump’s endorsement power is the most powerful force in American politics. His influence is election defining. When President Trump posts an endorsement on Truth Social, or a candidate onstage before tens of thousands of voters, America First patriots rally behind President Trump’s choice and deliver a decisive victory.”

But unfortunately, many candidates and political organizations falsely allege that they are “endorsed” by Trump or his campaign – when that simply isn’t the case, writing,

“To fight this scam, President Trump’s Seal will now include the right to use his name and likeness in fundraising solicitations and other campaign communications. The Seal will be a powerful signal to President Trump’s loyal donors that the sender is on Team Trump, and is not a scammer.”

The release goes on to state that, “Candidates and committees authorized to use the Seal shall be permitted, and indeed encouraged, to use the Seal in connection with their activities on social media, in paid advertising, and on merchandise.”

U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace displays the “Seal of Approval” on all campaign materials to identify that she is a Trump-endorsed candidate.

The Trump campaign also encourages Republicans in every state to review the campaign website to see the full list of candidates and committees endorsed by the 45th President of the United States.
