Project description: The City of Ranier is proposing to renovate and expand an existing City Dock to provide 26 tie-up facilities with up to seven available for overnight stays. The overnight facilities would be accessible for non-trailerable boats of 26+ feet in length. Amenities, including 20-, 30-, and 50-AMP electrical hook ups, freshwater services, and a sewage pump out station would be located on the dock. Aerial Application of Herbicides for Reforestation Purposes
Notice description: The MN Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry (DNR FOR) conducts reforestation activities (planting, seeding, and tending of established tree seedlings) on over ten thousand state forest acres a year. From August 15 to September 15, 2024, DNR FOR is planning to aerially apply herbicides on a small portion of those acres to prepare sites for upcoming tree planting and seeding and release established tree seedlings from competitive vegetation. Herbicide applications will occur using a helicopter on 21 sites comprising 429 acres in Aitkin, Cass, Crow Wing, Itasca, Lake, Pine, and St Louis Counties in the Aitkin, Backus, Hibbing, Sandstone, Tower, and Two Harbors DNR FOR administrative areas. All projects have been planned, reviewed, and approved following DNR FOR Pesticide Use Guidelines. For further information regarding this project, please contact: [email protected]

Minnesota Duty Officer reports pertaining to fish kills are summarized in the following table, in accordance with 103G.216, REPORTING FISH KILLS IN PUBLIC WATERS, Subd. 2 Reporting Requirement. These reports were received via the Minnesota Duty Officer prior to the submission deadline for this edition of the EQB Monitor. They represent the raw data/information provided by callers. The EQB Monitor is published every Tuesday at noon. Submissions to the EQB Monitor are due by 4:00 p.m. on the Tuesday one week prior to the intended publication date.
