White nationalist groups are popping up all over Appalachia, and according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, they pose a real threat to the future of our democracy.

Ahead of the 2024 elections, experts warn that these groups could directly counter the work our partners are doing by using violence and intimidation to spread their dangerous rhetoric and supporting the most extreme candidates on the ballot.

Our partners on the ground throughout Appalachia, the Deep South, and the Plains need resources to combat this wave of hate and continue defending our democracy and our fundamental rights and freedoms.
