Camp B.L.U.E.

June 10 - 14, 2024

Our summer session of Camp B.L.U.E. (Building, Learning, Understanding, and Empowering) was a success! Our campers enjoyed a fun-filled week full of petting exotic animals, arcade games and bowling at Alley Cats, a visit from Sophie the Therapy dog, painting with "Bob Ross", feeding giraffes at Fossil Rim, and so much more.

Thank you to everyone who donated their time, talents, and treasure to make Camp B.L.U.E. an amazing experience for our kids!

National Forensic Interviewer Appreciation Week

July 8 - 12, 2024

A forensic interview is a single session, recorded interview designed to elicit a child’s unique information when there are concerns of possible abuse or when the child has witnessed violence against another person. The forensic interview is conducted in a supportive and non-leading manner by a forensic interviewer, who is a professional trained in the

NCAC Forensic Interview model.

Forensic interviewers demonstrate incredible strengths every day that they show up to interview children who may have been victimized. They must be curious in how they approach each interview to thoroughly explore information, have hope that they can make a difference, love learning in the ever evolving field of research on which their practice is based, self-regulate during stressful situations, both during interviews and when testifying on the stand, persevering even on the longest days and in the hardest case scenarios, and always demonstrating kindness to every single child they come in contact with.

We’re so thankful for our wonderful forensic interviewers and for all that they bring to the Multidisciplinary Team!

Program Highlight: Child-Center Play Therapy

"Toys are children's words and play is their language." - Gary L. Landreth

Our playrooms, and therapists trained in Play Therapy, are able to provide a safe space for our youngest clients to have the necessary tools to process the traumatic experiences they have endured.

Child-Center Play Therapy is an evidence-based therapeutic modality in which sessions are held in a playroom. In these therapeutic playrooms, toys are selected, not collected - therefore, every toy serves a purpose and provides children the means to express themselves through their first, natural language - PLAY. Through Play Therapy we are able to provide counseling services for children as young as 2 years old through 9 years old, or any child who has difficulty expressing themselves. Between May 1, 2023 - May 31, 2024, we provided 100 clients with 939 sessions of play therapy.

Check out our Amazon wish list and consider donating some new play therapy toys to ensure our youngest clinical kiddos have a chance to

process their trauma.
