Fellow activist,

Last week, a suit was filed against the Washington County Board of Elections. Here’s the deal:

259 mail-in ballots were not counted in the April primary election.

This happened because the Washington County Board of Elections decided to conceal from voters the errors they had made on their mail-in ballot return envelopes. This meant their votes would not be counted, and voters were unable to correct the errors by Election Day.

In addition, when voters checked the status of their ballots online, Washington County recorded deficient ballots as “received,” further failing to notify voters on whether their vote was counted.

In short, voters were knowingly disenfranchised.

Elections in PA are often won on small margins, meaning errors like this can decide an election. It’s critical that Pennsylvanians who head to the polls or mail in their ballots have their votes counted, and we’re going to fight to ensure that happens.

Pennsylvania is a key battleground state, and we must ensure everyone has what they need to cast their ballot – and have it be counted. Will you rush $25 or more now to help us continue expanding the Pennsylvania electorate and fight to protect voting rights? ([link removed]
