The panel that Trump has amassed for his “Reopen American Again” plan is packed with CEOs and executives who will likely directly profit from the largest bailout in American history. 

Some on the list: the CEOs of JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Blackstone, McDonald’s’, Coca-Cola, 3M, Las Vegas Sands Resorts and Liberty Media. In true Trump fashion, the panel also has a celebrity flair with Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Tim Cook, Mark Zuckerberg, Mark Cuban, and Vince McMahon. Yep, you read that right, WWE’s Vince McMahon. 

While this list might read like a headline from The Onion, it’s true: 

The list also includes the CEO of Gilead Sciences, who’s set to personally profit off the drug Remdesivir, which has been touted by Trump and several insiders from his administration as a treatment for COVID-19. 

It’s time for Congress to step up and reinstate their oversight authority to ensure we don’t have a further consolidation of wealth concentrated at the top 1%. Tragically, the problem lies with who’s in Congress. Right now, the majority of our Congress is bankrolled by corporate PACs and lobbyists. Who in Congress is really working for the interests of the millions of us who have been financially devastated by this public health crisis?
