Hi John --

at the start of our special summer fundraising campaign.
60% of all the
donations that have come in so
far are from new, first time
donors–welcome and thank you!!
HELP
US REACH OUR GOAL: DONATE RIGHT NOW TO OPEN PRIMARIES
Over the next few weeks we’ll be
sharing with you how your support fuels our work and meaningful change
at the local and national level.
2024 is proving
to be our biggest and busiest year yet–here’s the
highlights:
-
SEVEN actual campaigns on the 2024 ballot: Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana,
Nevada, South Dakota and Washington DC.
-
Another half dozen state campaigns building with their eyes
toward 2026 & 2028 in
Florida, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Utah (and possibly Oregon and
Wyoming)
-
We’re working/collaborating and training activists and
leaders in Connecticut,
Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Missouri and Tennessee that
are building committees and exploring pathways.
-
Supporting Legislative efforts in New Mexico, Pennsylvania and Rhode
Island.
-
We’re playing a critical role in protecting open primary
states. We’re seeing serious
pushback from partisan insiders going after open primaries in
Missouri, Tennessee and Ohio.
-
Shaping and changing the national media narrative on open
primaries: in the past year
we’ve had over 100 pieces of national media coverage directly related
to our work: The Hill, U.S. News and World Report,
ABC News, CBS News, Governing, NPR, The Fulcrum, Real Clear Politics,
CNN, The Washington Post, The NY Times and even The
View have all covered
our work. This is mind-blowing to those of us who’ve been around since
the beginning. In 2009, we would have been lucky to see 4-5 stories a
year on open primaries.
Plain and simple:
without Open Primaries–the explosion of state campaigns fighting to
change the system would not be successful, critical media/public
attention would not exist and partisan leaders working to close the
primaries would have a clear path forward.
We’re asking you today to invest in
us–not only to ensure that we’re able to continue serving this role
but to help us expand and take on more as the demand for what we’re
doing continues to increase exponentially in the years to
come.
Can you make that investment and come on board
today?
