Friends --
My commute is much shorter these days (just down the hall!) but I’m working hard every day to keep Floridians safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic and to end it as soon as possible.
I’m passionate about helping people in my community thrive and succeed. I can’t imagine a more rewarding job than the one I have, which is why I officially filed for re-election today.
You may remember that I first ran for Congress in 2016 because I was frustrated by elected leaders’ inaction on critical issues in our community. I promised that as the 7th District’s representative in Washington I would fight for real and lasting change that would improve people’s lives. And that’s what I’ve done.
I have worked to pass legislation that makes prescription drugs more affordable and that holds pharmaceutical companies accountable for price gouging. I've led the effort to increase the minimum wage and I've worked to make housing and healthcare more affordable in central Florida. As a result, I’ve been consistently named one of the most effective and most independent Members of Congress.
I understand that political campaigns may not be the first thing on your mind right now. But I greatly appreciate your support as we move closer to November’s election, so that I can stay in Congress working to move Florida and our country forward.
Thank you so much. And please stay safe.
