During a crisis like the one we’re facing now, we often
turn to our government and elected officials for leadership,
clarity, and decisive action.
Devastatingly, President Trump and his administration
have given us none of these things. Trump has completely bungled
the coronavirus pandemic response by downplaying its severity,
creating a faulty test, firing the pandemic response team, and
many other missteps. He has spread misinformation, continually
used the “Wuhan virus” misnomer, and promoted unstudied cures.
And he’s even called for a premature end to social distancing
guidelines, which would risk the lives of all Americans.
Fortunately, we are lucky to have one member of the
administration step up and bring true leadership and expertise to
the coronavirus pandemic: Dr. Anthony Fauci of the National
Institutes of Health.
We think he deserves our thanks for his leadership --
