Even during a pandemic crisis, one thing remains clear: Voting is an essential
right and responsibility of every American.
One of the least talked about provisions that I worked on in the last stimulus
package was $400 million in election support grants to the states. To adhere to
public safety measures, many state and local election boards are facing
significant costs. And many are considering expanding vote-by-mail options for
the upcoming elections.
It's a no brainer: Vote-by-mail will save lives and increase voter turnout with
no evidence of voter fraud. In fact, states that have already made vote-by-mail
an option have seen increased turnout from all political parties -- that is something
that we should all be embracing.

and our democracy strong. [link removed]
What happened in the Wisconsin primary -- where the GOP-led courts didn't even
allow a postponement of in-person voting so that Wisconsinites had to choose
between their lives and their democracy -- was a moral outrage.
President Trump also said last week, Republicans have to fight vote-by-mail
because it "doesn't work out well for Republicans." Well, as often is the case,
he is wrong. Vote-by-mail works for all Americans.
This should not be a partisan battle. This is about saving lives and protecting
our democracy.
So we need to hear from you: If you support vote-by-mail and want to demand that
states are given the funds they need to prepare for this year's elections safely, please add
your name here. [link removed]
Thanks for using your voice in support of our country's safety.
