Olympic View Transfer Station closed Tuesday, July 9 for recovery following compactor outage

The broken garbage compactor at Olympic View Transfer Station is now repaired. However, the facility will remain closed Tuesday, July 9, 2024, so operators can safely clear the floor of waste that accumulated during the compactor outage.
The outdoor recycling yard will be open on Tuesday.
We intend to reopen the facility on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Please expect long lines.

Please postpone visits to Recycling and Garbage Facilities
If possible, we ask that you please continue to postpone your visits to the Recycling and Garbage Facilities in Silverdale, Hansville, and Olalla. Garbage collected at these smaller facilities is transported to Olympic View Transfer Station, which is currently recovering from the outage.
The Recycling and Garbage Facilities remain open on a normal schedule, but customers may be turned away when capacity is reached.
The Household Hazardous Waste Facility is not affected by this outage.

Collection services shouldn't be impacted
We do not expect any service interruptions to the waste collection services provided by WM, Bainbridge Disposal, and the City of Poulsbo.?

Mason and Pierce County residents
Mason County residents should use the garbage disposal facility in Belfair, and Pierce County residents should use Purdy Transfer Station.?
