Hi folks, Susie Lee here.
I want to tell you about my family and the reason I’m in this fight to keep Nevada blue for all working families. Will you chip in $10 and then read my story below?
I grew up in a working-class family, as one of eight siblings. (Yep, you read that right – there were eight of us!)
My dad was a veteran and steel plant worker, and my mom was a homemaker. As you can probably imagine, she had her hands full!
Like any other big, working-class family, we sometimes struggled: When I was young, both my parents were denied health coverage because of preexisting conditions. Later, my mom suffered a heart attack just one month before she qualified for Medicare, and my parents nearly lost their home as the medical bills piled up.
I’ve seen firsthand how our institutions can uplift working families like mine. But I’ve also seen the consequences when those institutions fail, and when they protect those at the top at the expense of everyone else.
Those experiences are the reason I decided to run for Congress in Nevada’s most competitive district. My mission was to fight for hardworking families, and with the help of this team, we won.
For the past five years, I’ve fought to make Southern Nevada a better place for families of all kinds: things like affordable healthcare, housing, and childcare, water security, clean energy, quality public education, paid parental leave, fair wages, better infrastructure, and so much more.
The people of Nevada’s Third District are truly at the heart of everything I do, and I hope to continue serving them faithfully in Washington. But I’m facing a tough re-election fight, and in order to keep this seat blue, I’m going to need grassroots support from folks like you.
Together, we can continue to fight for progress and opportunity in the Silver State. Will you chip in right now to help make that possible?
This was a long one, so thank you for reading.
