Santa Fe Dreamers Project welcomes new Executive Director, Miles Tokunow

We are thrilled to announce the hiring of Miles Tokunow as the new Executive Director of Santa Fe Dreamers Project who started on July 1, 2024! After a long and extensive search featuring many qualified and exciting candidates, we are confident that we have landed on the right person to lead our organization forward through its next chapter. 

Miles comes to us from OLÉ (Organizers in the Land of Enchantment), a grassroots nonprofit that focuses on movement building for working families to shape New Mexico’s future.

Miles has worked at OLÉ as an organizer since 2016, and has served as deputy director for the past 4 years. He has a wealth of experience working in the community on a variety of issues and campaigns including Amendment 1, which successfully enshrined a constitutional right to an early childhood education for every New Mexican child in 2022.

Miles’s experience in nonprofit leadership, coalition-building, and specifically working with immigrants and mixed-status families in New Mexico will be a huge contribution to Santa Fe Dreamers Project. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome him to our organization!

Thank you to outgoing SFDP Executive Director, Emma O’Sullivan, who has been at the helm for the past two years. We are grateful for Emma’s leadership, for her many contributions as Executive Director, and for her long term commitment and service to our local immigrant community. Emma began as a staff attorney with SFDP in the early days of the organization, and was our legal director from 2019 to 2022. In her time at the organization, Emma has represented hundreds of clients including survivors of violent crime, detained asylum seekers, and many others.
