Team,
No one should have to choose between risking their health and exercising their right to vote.
But that's exactly the choice the people of Wisconsin were faced with earlier this month. Republicans refused to reschedule the April primary, so many voters stayed home, forfeiting their right to vote, because they feared getting sick and risking their lives at their polling place.
Fortunately, there's a solution. By voting by mail, voters can easily, safely, and securely make their voices heard from home as we fight through the COVID-19 pandemic. New Jersey has been leading the way by making voting by mail as simple as possible, but we need a federal law to ensure that voters in all states have that option.
Do you believe that every voter should have the option to safely vote from home? Add your name and show your support now.
Today, voters in many states can vote by mail in every election. In others, voters need a note from their doctor to vote by mail. And in some states, voters can only vote in person.
That means that many of the people most at risk of dying from COVID-19 may have no say in their local, state, and federal elections if they don't risk their lives in the November election.
The only way we can keep them safe and protect their voting rights is to pass a federal law ensuring that every eligible voter has the freedom to vote by mail. But first, we need to build a groundswell of public pressure to make it happen.
Will you join Andy in calling for federal action to ensure every American can vote by mail? Add your name now.
Thank you,
Team Kim
